Privacy Policy

Plain answers to the two questions people actually have: what do you keep about me, and who else sees it.

If you are an auctioneer with an account

When you sign up we keep your email address, and a password only if you choose to set one, stored in a form we cannot read. When you name your business we keep the name, the postal address that goes at the bottom of your messages, the reply address you choose, and a logo if you upload one.

The buyer list you upload is stored so we can send to it and keep it clean. We use it for nothing else. We do not sell it, share it with other customers, or send it anything you did not write.

Payment goes through Stripe. We keep a reference to your Stripe customer record and your plan; the card number never reaches us.

When you send, we record which addresses the message went to, whether each one was delivered, bounced, or marked as spam, and which links were clicked and when. This is how we show you your results and how we stop sending to addresses that have gone bad.

If you got an email from an auctioneer who uses us

An auction business you have bought from or registered with uploaded your email address to send you news about their sales. The message came from our sending address with their name on it, and replies go to them, not us.

We hold your address on their behalf and use it only to deliver their messages. We do not add you to any other list, and we do not send you anything of our own.

Every message has a link at the bottom to stop future messages from that business. Using it takes effect immediately and does not require signing in to anything. If the same business uploads your address again later, it stays stopped.

If you want your address removed entirely, ask the business that sent the message; they control the list. You can also write to us and we will help.

If we emailed you about Boost My Auction

We introduce ourselves to auction businesses by email, using addresses published in public auctioneer directories and on business websites. Every one of those messages has a link to stop hearing from us, and using it stops all future mail from us, even if your address turns up in a directory again.

If you sign up for an account, we stop sending you introduction mail automatically.

Who else sees the data

We run on services that handle data for us: Supabase stores the database and sign-in, Resend delivers the email and reports back what happened to it, Stripe handles payment, and Vercel hosts the site. Each of them sees only what it needs to do its job, under its own privacy terms.

We do not sell data to anyone, and we do not share it with advertisers. We will hand over data if the law requires us to, and we will tell you if we are allowed to.

Cookies

The site sets one cookie, and only when you sign in: it keeps you signed in. We use Vercel's analytics to count visits to the marketing page; it does not set a cookie or identify individual visitors.

How long we keep things

Your account, list, and campaigns stay until you delete them or close the account. The record of what was sent, to whom, and who opted out is kept after that, because an opt-out has to keep working even after the list it came from is gone.

Introduction mail records are kept so an opt-out from us stays honored.

Security

Data is encrypted on the way to and from the site and at rest. Every customer's list is separated from every other customer's at the database level, so a bug in one page cannot show one auctioneer another's buyers. Access to customer data by us is limited to what support needs, and it is read-only.

Changes and questions

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will email account holders before it takes effect.

Write to mail@boostmyauction.com. A person reads that inbox.
