Terms of Service

These are the rules for using Boost My Auction. They are short because the product is simple: you email your own buyers about your own sales, and we make sure it gets there.

What Boost My Auction is

Boost My Auction lets an auction business upload a list of its own past buyers and send them email about upcoming sales. You write the message; we deliver it, keep the list clean, and show you who clicked.

These terms are the agreement between you (the business that created the account) and Boost My Auction. By creating an account you accept them.

Your list must be yours

You may only upload people who gave you their email address and would expect to hear from you: bidders who registered at your sales, buyers who bought from you, people who signed up for your mailing list.

You may not upload a list you bought, rented, scraped from a website, or copied from another business. Mail to people who never asked for it gets marked as spam, and because every customer sends from the same address, one bad list hurts every auctioneer on the platform.

If a customer's mail draws an unusual number of spam complaints or bounces, we may pause sending on that account while we look into it. We will tell you when that happens and what we found.

What goes in every message

Every message you send carries your business name, your postal address, and a link that lets the reader stop future messages. We add these for you and will not send a message without them. That is what the law requires of anyone sending marketing email, and it is not optional.

When someone opts out, we stop sending to them on your behalf. You cannot add them back by uploading them again.

You are responsible for what your message says. Do not send anything false, misleading, or unlawful, and do not use the service to send anything other than email about your own auction business.

Plans and payment

Every account starts on a free plan that reaches a limited number of buyers each month, with no card required. Paid plans raise that limit and are billed monthly, in advance, through Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

Sending limits reset at the start of each calendar month and do not carry over. If a send fails on our side, the messages that did not go out are credited back to your monthly limit.

You can change or cancel your plan at any time from the billing page. When you cancel, you keep your paid limit until the end of the period you already paid for, and you are not charged again. Prices may change; if they do for your plan, we will tell you before your next bill.

If a payment fails, we keep your account sending for a short time while your card issuer retries, because cutting an auctioneer off in the middle of a sale is worse than a late payment. If it keeps failing, the account drops back to the free plan.

What we promise, and what we do not

We work to land your mail in the inbox, and we handle the technical parts that mailbox providers require. We cannot promise that any particular message will be delivered, opened, or clicked, and we do not promise more bidders, more registrations, or higher prices at your sales. Those depend on your list, your sale, and your buyers.

The service is provided as it is. We may be down for maintenance or because of a problem with a provider we depend on. We will do our best to fix problems quickly, but we are not responsible for a sale that got less attention because a message went out late or not at all.

To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility to you for anything arising from the service is limited to what you paid us in the three months before the problem.

Your account

You sign in with a link we email you, or a password if you set one. Keep both to yourself. You are responsible for anything sent from your account.

You can close your account at any time. When you do, your contact list and campaigns are deleted. We keep a record of what was sent and to whom for as long as the law requires us to be able to honor opt-outs.

We may close an account that breaks these terms. If we do, we will say why.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will email the address on your account before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
